An open coil mattress will have on average 300 springs, which are joined together. In this mattress you get twice the number and each of them is housed in its own fabric pocket, allowing them to move independently of the others so that the mattress contours to you body shape. This helps to relieve pressure and is just more comfortable than an open coil mattress.
